From Plate To Page: Win Your Way To Germany

Everywhere I turn, there’s food writing opportunities coming up. I’d missed a course recently due to a clash with Scratcher (the show, not the actual dole) and reading the IFBA blog yesterday I spotted an awesome competition that will see two Irish food bloggers head to Germany for a few days in May for From Plate To Page, a European food bloggers event designed to improve your food photography and writing skills while networking with other European photographers and writers.

The initiative is being sponsored by Bord Bia, enabling an increase in awareness of Irish food and drink across Europe. While the prize, which includes flights, transfers, accommodation and meals, is fantastic, the competition process itself is a great one.

  • You need to write a blog post on Irish food, using Irish beef – with the context: why did you chose the dish, what does it mean to you, along with a recipe and photo.
  • Submit your link to before March 31st
  • The top four blog posts get chosen with the respective bloggers taking part in a cook off at Cooks Academy in mid-April
  • The winners head for the residential workshop from May 20-23rd in Germany. Major win.

Maybe it’s time I pull out that steak dish I’ve been thinking of for an age. Get the full low down on the competition over at the Irish Food Bloggers Association.
