This coming bank holiday weekend sees the home of the Rebel Red and Friar Weiss opens its doors for the 15th time for Octoberfest.

Franciscan Well, with its brew pub on North Mall in Cork is once more celebrating all things beer with its own Octoberfest event on Friday evening, Satudday and Sunday afternoon next.

Exotic beers on show include Tuatara Sauvinova Single Hop IPA and Aotearoa Pale Ale (New Zealand) and the Espiga Hop Collection Series – Amarillo from Spain. They will join the staples of Rebel Red, Friar Weiss, Chieftain IPA and Shandon Stout for the weekend.

Italian cheesemakers Antica Latteria Bruzolese will be on hand sampling their renowned Turin cheese with wood-fired favourites Pompeii Pizza (who do make an awesome pizza, trust me) on food duty.

If you’re thinking on travelling for the bank holiday weekend and you’ve got Cork in your sights, you’d do well do drop in for a beer and a slice.

Octoberfest at Franciscan Well will be open from 5pm on Friday evening and again from 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
