Returning To The Kitchen
The show has been packed into a box, there’s a new office opening up, the paint trays are stashed in their house, the garden has been obliterated by shovels, wheelbarrows, trimmers, lawnmowers and everything else – and I’ve started another blog – which now means it’s safe to return to the kitchen, a place in Chez McGuire which is looking a lot healthier these days thanks to the handiwork of Mrs Any Given Food-to-be.
Without realising it, I’ve taken the past month off AnyGivenFood.com, due largely in part to my endeavours with The Devious Theatre Company. While maintaining my commercial work, I’ve also just completed a near seven-month long artist residency focusing on professional development in theatre. Three full productions, two festivals and a partdridge in a pear tree later and I get to go back to the kitchen at Chez McGuire and return to my love of writing and chatting about food.
I’ll be dusting down the drafts box here on the blog as well so there may be a flurry of activity over the next couple of days while I get back to emails and stored posts.
On the mention of the new blog, I’ve opened up Love Arts Culture, inspired by my dealings with the arts over the past seven months. The focus on the blog is very much surrounding theatre and dealings with artists and groups I’m involved with both personally and professionally. You’ll find LoveArtsCulture. com on Twitter and Facebook too.
Foodie Roundup also makes a welcome return this Sunday too. I’m off to get some knives sharpened…
